- Awesome Art: The film is a unique and beautifully animated piece, even if the animation itself is surreal and nightmarish.
- Esoteric Happy Ending: The film ends with Maria returning to the clutches of the wolf after he saves her from her children. Considering the film in-universe is made by a cult leader to indoctrinate viewers, it's a lot less happy for the audience than the characters.
- Narm Charm: For a stop-motion animation, there are some moments of Special Effects Failure here and there. You can obviously see some strings and scotch tapes that braces figurines and dolls in some shots. But these aspects also add another layer of surrealism in a feature film that's already Surreal Horror from the start. And being told from the perspective of a cult leader, this helps to make it even more unsettling.
- Visual Effects of Awesome: Moments of Special Effects Failure aside (intentional or not), the production team managed to create a very rare kind of animated film where it is told and presented in one continuous take.
