- When it was revealed that a Meta Knight costume and color set was in the game, many people thought back to a noteworthy reskin of Fatty Puffer from Return to Dream Land.
- Nightmare Retardant: Some of Kirby's most notably creepy bosses do indeed appear...as part of the Character Treats collection. The likenesses of Zero, Marx Soul, and a few others have been plastered on sweet, cake-topping treats!
- So Okay, It's Average: The general consensus amongst fans and critics is that, while the game is fun in short bursts and it undeniably has charm, it is an incredibly barebones game that is lacking in content and can get very repetitive and boring if played for a long time, especially since there are only a few mini games and all the courses are identical, meaning they start to blend together after awhile.
- Sweet Dreams Fuel: Continuing the fact it's one of Kirby's more wholesome games with no threat of a nightmarish Eldritch Abomination, the game has a very happy and sweet atmosphere.
- Tear Jerker: If you wind up in last place, Kirby will look dejected, complete with big sad eyes. Really, no one can help feeling sorry for him.
