YMMV / Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne

Go To

  • Fan-Preferred Couple: Some fans got upset that Toki and Celcia didn't get together like Access and Finn did, some even so far to wish their reincarnations got together. Completely ignoring Toki's (a bit creepy) crush on Finn.
  • Fridge Brilliance: Not only does Maron’s hair and eye color change when she transforms into Jeanne, but both of her outfits have gloves. It could seem like just a design choice at first, but Jeanne is still a thief.

  • Fridge Horror: At the end of the manga, Finn receives the ability to reincarnate from Maron. So when Access/Shinji eventually dies...
  • Les Yay:
    • Miyako is very obsessed with catching Jeanne, to the point where she's disappointed when Jeanne doesn't show up to one of her planned thefts, and she's over the moon when Jeanne's next theft announcement arrives and contains an apology for missing the previous time. It gets even more Les Yay when we find out that Miyako's whole reason for pursuing Jeanne is to protect Maron's reputation.
    • Also, Maron eventually realizes why she was having so much trouble confessing her love to Chiaki — she was worried about hurting Miyako.
  • Nightmare Fuel: Jeanne's bracelets look suspiciously like the ones used by Galaxia to keep Senshi who want to join her alive after taking their Star Seed, and mindcontrol them... foreshadowing?

  • Strangled by the Red String: Neither Yashiro and Kagura, nor Yamato and Miyako share any on-screen or on-page chemistry or romantic foreshadowing before confessing their love for each other.
  • What an Idiot!: When Maron's classmates talk about how she looks like Jeanne in Miyako's presence. It's expected that she can piece this one together and decides to not arrest Maron to protect her. But no, she refuses to believe such fact and therefore vows to arrest Jeanne to prove her point. Subverted in the manga, where Miyako in fact knew all along.
