YMMV / Justice League/Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers

Go To

  • Complete Monsters: Brainiac and Lord Zedd team up to collect Angel Grove. After finding himself on the DC Earth, Zedd convinces Brainiac to allow him to enlarge some of his collection as a distraction while Brainiac takes the Zords and Coins. The two then leave the groups stranded on the DC Earth as they escape to the dimension to take Angel Grove. The Rangers and the Justice League arrive in time to see them collecting Angel Grove and planning to destroy the Earth. When a group infiltrates Brainiac's ship, Brainiac forces Cyborg to attack his friends. The group eventually find a room full of other captured cities. Taking Alpha 5 prisoner, Brainiac tries to turn him to his side, before trying to kill Superman with Kryptonite. Meanwhile Zedd leads a group of Monsters in helping Brainiac and shrinks Zordon, so he can force Zordon to watch as he destroys the world he swore to protect.
  • Funny Moments: Some of the lines that result from the Rangers and Justice Leaguers interacting qualify.
    • A good example is when Superman confronts Kimberly in her Zord.
Superman: Miss, I'm going to have to ask you to land your pterodactyl.
    • Or Flash's statement that he can perfectly understand why the Rangers mistook Batman for a villain.
    • Kimberly notes it's a good thing Batman wasn't crushed by one of the Zords.
Batman: The last giant robot dinosaur that attacked me is mounted as a trophy in my cave.
Zack: See? How are we supposed to know he's not a bad guy?
    • Zedd getting smacked in the face with a Boxing Glove Arrow, Which Kimberly notes is the greatest feeling she's had in a while.
    • Bruce Wayne decides to pay up for everyone at the juice bar as his way of saying a job well done — only for the billionaire playboy to be fundamentally broke in Angel Grove because his dollar bills have Lex Luthor on them.
  • Heartwarming Moments:
    • In issue #5, Billy, Trini, and Zack refuse to escape Brainiac's ship without Alpha 5 when they discover that he's on board. All of them are overjoyed to see each other again.
    • Also from this issue, Alpha 5's reason for fighting against Brainiac and his forces: he threatened the Rangers, Alpha's friends.
  • Narm Charm: Alpha 5 explains to Brainiac that friendship is inherent to being a sapient being, because truly sapient beings are able to feel emotions for others, and just thinking of yourself is selfish and machine-like. He also points out that Brainiac isn't learning anything by capturing cities in bottles, because by depriving their inhabitants of the experience of life and the ability to grow and learn, he's only capturing a brief snapshot of what they were like and can't truly understand them. It's incredible cheesy and also very heartfelt and truthful.
  • Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: Alpha 5, of all people, gets a Moment of Awesome and a surprising moment of Character Development during his interactions with Brainiac.
