- They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Jessica got hit with this all over again with her 2016 series, which went a surprisingly long way toward re-establishing the Alias status quo. In the early issues, her marriage with Luke is in serious trouble and Jessica's social life is bending back toward "hot garbage fire." Readers who had adjusted just fine to the lighter, softer, but healthier Jessica in the main Marvel universe weren't pleased to give it all up in exchange for more cussing.
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: A terrorist organization sought to frame the Champions with a disaster similar to the one that ignited first Civil War, that broke the superhero community in half, and make it all start again. Wich sounds great. But Jessica helped to discover and halt it before it even started, so We Are Not Going Through That Again.
- What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids?: Kids may buy a comic of Marvel Comics expecting the usual superhero fare. Yeah, no. The original MAX series and the 2016 relaunch use a R-Rated Opening to clarify this.
