  • Broken Base:
    • Eve Bakian. Many are happy to see a mostly well received original creation from Secret Wars 2015 find her way to the 616 universe, though a good number of people found it highly inappropriate for a pregnant woman to be fighting the Fraternity of Raptors on the front lines, nova Force powered badass or not.
    • Galactus reverting from the Lifebringer back to the Devourer. Many were upset with this quick return to the status quo. Others were happy to see Galactus as the threatening force of nature he was introduced as, as well as bringing back the nuance of his role as a universal force.
  • Dropped a Bridge on Him: Hank Pym being destroyed by a soul eater while trapped in an illusion of finally making it home after being subjected to the Ultron fusion for over a year in-story time was so quick and ignoble that some fans saw it as mean-spirited on the part of the writer.
  • Fridge Logic: Why exactly does Galactus need to be reverted back to a devourer to destroy a planet? It's implicit that the Lifebringer is stronger given he doesn't hunger and is capable of bringing life to entire dead planets.
  • Funny Moments:
    • Drax tears off a Raptor's wings and tries to fly with them.
    • As Eva mentions that she's about to go into labor while defending the Power Stone, Drax shouts at her to tell the unborn child "No!".
    • After the Gardener restores Groot to his original self:
      Groot: Groot hails his friends!
      Rocket Raccoon: What the flark?
Groot: Join Groot as he smites his enemies! Groot hates this giant abomination! Groot will destroy it with his friends!
Groot dives towards the giant monstrosity, laughing maniacally.
Nova: Did... what did Gardener do?
    • As the Guardian's face what they believe to be certain death, Star-Lord tells Drax to go ahead and try playing the saxophone from his old human life one last time before they meet their maker. As he does this, the chitari mistake it for a war horn like the one they used to signal their advance. They also comment how the Guardians' war horn sounds a lot better than theirs.
  • Moment of Awesome: Drax knocking out Warbringer and his entire army using a Power Gem augmented saxophone.
  • Shocking Moments: Pretty much everything Ultron does. He first appears in the event when he kills the Magus. And When Adam Warlock finally confronts him, Ultron had just finished Ultronizing the Silver Surfer.
  • Take That, Scrappy!: Thanos delivering a savage beatdown to Riri Williams in "Infinity Countdown: Champions #2." It comes right after this exchange, which almost comes across as a Take That! to a character derided for being an egotistical Mary Sue:
Riri: We saved your soldiers, pal. The least you could do is show some GRATITUDE. Who do you think YOU are?
Thanos: Come closer and find out...
Riri: Fine, then maybe I WILL! *flies in and receives a Neck Lift*
Thanos: I AM THANOS. AND YOU....*completely destroys her armor*...ARE NOTHING.
  • Tear Jerker: The ending of Darkhawk's mini when Nova, believing that Darkhawk's actions caused his missing brother to die, ends their longtime friendship right there, coldly warning Chris that the next time he or anyone in the Nova Corp sees him off of Earth, they will rip out his crystal and lock him in the darkest cell they have.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: When Pymtron holds the Soul Stone, a fragment of Hank Pym's soul is transported to Soul World. After three years, this could be the key to bringing Hank Pym back to the Marvel Univ- Nope, he's dead. He gets eaten alive by a Soul World Monster in the last issue.
  • Unexpected Character: Many readers were surprised to see Darkhawk getting top billing for almost half of the event's tie-ins.
    • While some expected the character to grow out of his "baby" form NO ONE expected Groot to be reverted to his original, much more verbose form from before Annihilation Conquest.
