  • Awesome Music:
  • Broken Base: The animated series by Mainframe. It is either an enjoyable show about fighting mechs in its own right or a terrible adaptation for being Lighter and Softer, too much focused on the fighting tournament and not using the warfare storylines from the game.
  • Cult Classic: The video games.
  • Fanon Discontinuity: The animated series for who dislikes it.
  • Scrappy Weapon: The Fragmentation Cannon. Besides its usual problems as a Short-Range Shotgun, it has one of the worst performance ratings in terms of damage, firing rate, and ammo capacity in the two video games it appears in. This weapon can barely scrape a light-class Gear's hull, let alone a tank, that it might as well do Scratch Damage. Even worse, the first weapon you start off in the game, the Light Autocannon, embarrassingly outclasses the Fragmentation Cannon in every other aspect concerning performance, turning the latter into a Joke Weapon.
    • Frag Cannons are marginally better on the tabletop, thanks to having a high AP trait score to make up for lower overall power and they're frighteningly good at removing Infantry squads, but they have a lot of specialized competition in either role. At least in Medium and Heavy form, that is. The Light Frag Cannon is a much maligned piece of kit that is far more commonly found as a backup attachment to Autocannons equipped on budget versions of Gears than as a dedicated weapon.
  • Spiritual Licensee: This could be the best Armored Trooper VOTOMS tabletop game ever. (Which should tell you how little the actual Votoms game is known...)
