YMMV / Harvest Moon: Save The Homeland

Go To

  • Cult Classic: It was poorly received by fans and critics at the time of release due to its short length and lack of a marriage system. This has led the game to have far fewer fans than other titles, especially in comparison to its popular contemporaries A Wonderful Life and Friends of Mineral Town. Despite this, the game has its fans who enjoy the characters and their characterization. It has also been popularized thanks to the characters reappearing in future Harvest Moon titles.

  • Values Dissonance: The protagonist has a canon age of 21 and the youngest love interest is Katie at 16. Though legal to date her in most places, it's still often seen as creepy for someone in their 20s to date a 16 year old.
  • Vindicated by History Though poorly received upon release for its lack of features, the game has since become praised amongst fans for its characterizations and character designs.
