• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: The prologue features the Secret Weapons having to improvise in order to fend off an attack by the HARD Corps. Then they go into hiding and play no meaningful role in the rest of the miniseries. The same could be said of pretty much every young hero in the Valiant Universe; they all make appearances, but they're all sidelined so that the miniseries can focus on the conflict between the former members of Unity.
• Too Bleak, Stopped Caring: On one side, you have a bunch of trigger-happy government agents who murder kids. On the other side is a self-righteous zealot who wipes out the entire US power grid (and canonically kills several hundred people as a result) in order to punish the government for coming after her students. It's very hard to see either side as particularly right.
