YMMV / Grand Chase Dimensional Chaser

  • Awesome Art: With Art Evolution, the game's artwork and sprites are amazing and the artwork continues to evolve over the course of the game.
  • Awesome Music: Hear those tambourines? "Hope" has returned. In both KR and JP versions.
  • Broken Base: Being a mobile game sequel pissed off a lot of the old PC veterans, who were thinking that GC has become another blatant mobile cash-grab. Some actually defend the game saying that the original PC game suffered from just as many cash-grab features, like the character and job, unlock missions combined with a Difficulty Spike around level 65 onward that made PvE impossible for normal players without a full party. The reasons this game didn't suffer as much backlash as a certain mobile Diablo game was 1) it was still developed by KOG instead of being offshored to another company, 2) there weren't any infamous PR responses, 3) there are a lot of Anti-Frustration Features in placenote  which stops players from having to shell out a single dime to get all the members of the Grand Chase which are all ranked SS/SR and 4) it was still canonically a proper sequel that takes place after the ending instead of being a interquel.
  • Complacent Gaming Syndrome:
    • A general rule of thumb for new players/re-rollers from pretty much everyone else that played the game: Getting Lass is your top priority due to his versatility that last all the way to the late game. Elaborating on this, as more of the Grand Chase members become available, top priorities for the other classes soon arrive. As of the current meta outside of Lass who is an Assault class: Jin (Tank), Rufus (Ranger), Ley (Mage) and Amy (Healer) are also top choices. However, with the release of Limit Breaks, this has changed. Lass has fallen off in favor of Elesis. Jin is now replaced with Ryan and or Zero as the preferred Tanks. Lastly, for Mages Ley has fallen off in favor of Mari whose Limit Break does more damage and offers better buffs.
    • When it comes to PVP Defense, Lime is a common Grand Chase member seen in the player's defense line up because her skills can hold the team against attacking players for a long time. Less common is Dio, whose skills can stun opponents and prevent them from using their own skills. Hidden Jin/Lime or Jin/Rin setups are considered unstoppable combos in that mode when given the best gear due to the massive defensive capabilities they possess.
    • However newer heroes, as well as with each new evolution system tend to subvert this. An example is Europa and Tia whom became popular choice in both PVP Attack and Defense, as Europa being a Glass Cannon while Tia is a Stone Wall that can stun with her chaser, Nelia is still a Power Creep among mages, Hwarin is a popular choice for PVP defense since her skillset can not only revive dead units but can improve an unit skill damage and cooldown reduction while Zero and Asin tends to be the answer against summons and mages respectively.
  • Difficulty Spike: World 5 Burning Canyon marks a drastic difficulty increase in Adventure mode as Demonic Spiders appear here more often than previous worlds, making clearing missions more challenging.
  • Just Here for Godzilla: Many a player downloaded Dimensional Chasers to play as the Grand Chase members again and see what happened to them after the Sudden Downer Ending and Cliffhanger in the original.
  • Memetic Mutation:
    • When Uno? explanation
    • Werner has no Skin. explanation
    • Males SR are extinct. explanation
  • Moe: Lime. While she is already a moe material back in original game, her moe level skyrocket in this sequel by giving her more Fangirl moments and permanent Blush Stickers. Being voiced by Aina Suzuki in Japanese voice overs certainly helps too.
  • That One Boss:
    • Certain non-raid bosses are proven to be difficult opponents during first encounters especially if the player aim to clear all missions.
      • The Radical in 17-9 has strong area attacks but what makes him hard is his disabling attack where your heroes would become balls of light that are immobile and vulnerable. Anticipating the said attack is difficult as he summons lots of Mooks to obstruct the player's view.
      • Duel in 19-9 while fought alone has a charged attack that can be only cancelled by stunning him after his shield is removed. If the fight becomes too long, he will unleash the said attack without warning, potentially inflicting Total Party Kill.
      • Tristan in 22-6 is somewhat like Radical without disabling ability but instead has a One-Hit KO attack on anyone who is not Tank. To make things worse, his fight is just in the Difficulty Spike in World 6 as the Mooks significantly became stronger after the boss before him.
      • Haggler in 22-9 after Tristan is just as hard as he is an Assault boss packed with high HP and power. He has a rushing attack that can send your heroes flying backwards and stun them. While he is not accompanied with numerous Mooks unlike Tristan, he has one King Mook with him that functions as his personal Tank giving him shield over his already high HP.
    • Gardosen, if you think his Ellia counterpart was bad enough, wait until you see his raid version which is much more bigger pain thanks to his nasty gimmicks and dealing nasty damage that can kill some of your characters if not shielded sooner. The fight is potentially a damage race, each time he drops a swords and five large meteors his attack powers increases for each characters in your party was hit. The pain comes in when you reduces his health to 75% where he will start spawning mini version of himself starting from left to right, they don't attack but they leave a black mist which not only they deal continuously damage but they can disable shield as well, not to mention that they remains permanent on the field. Players who already fought several raid bosses without the use of tankers or any invincibility skills are in for a rude awakening if they assume they can last long on this fight.
