YMMV / GoldenEye: Rogue Agent

Go To

  • Awesome Moments:
    • Most of the levels are a doozy, even on Easy. Getting through them is truly awesome.
    • In the last level, Volcano Lair, you release the prisoners to help you fight against Goldfinger. They're not ordinary Red Shirts; they can clear rooms by themselves and even kill boss enemies.
  • Demonic Spiders: The OMEN-XR wielding enemies in the final level. The OMEN-XR is a anti-organic energy orb rifle, which the enemies fire in triple-fire burst, the maximum ammo capacity for each magazine. One hit, and you die. There's often more than one of these enemies in the same room, and some Elite Mooks carry the OMEN-XR as well. The Magnetic Polarity Shield can shield you against these. However, it only lasts a short time before it has to recharge... and the OMEN-XR can take it out with one blast. These enemies are also often flanked by enemies with VENOM guns, which slow you down, making you easy pickings for the OMEN gunners.
  • Difficulty Spike: The final level throws in enemies armed with Omen Experimental Rifles that can kill you in one shot. You're likely to die more times in said level than you did through the entire rest of the game, and as a result the level can take almost as long to complete as the first half of the game.
  • Funny Moments:
    • When raiding the Octopus base you can walk up to several weapon dealer kiosks and purchase their wares on behalf of your boss on his account. Goldfinger himself is quick to voice his disapproval of your shenanigans.
Goldfinger: "Now get out of there. AND STOP SPENDING MY MONEY!!"
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Bond never shows up after the intro, despite the potential for a boss fight and the potential to have MI6 show up as antagonists.
    • Oddjob appears in the background a few times before being unceremoniously thrown down the Hoover Dam with no explanation.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: A Bond game involving battles between all of the villain organizations with the player as a criminal working for them could have been a really cool and fun concept.
