  • Condemned by History: When the game was released, it won many awards, including the grand prize in Independent Game Festival. However, as the years went on, the reviews went from glowing to mixed, citing dated physics, clumsy controls, interface issues such as low vertical vision without the level design taking it into account and so on.
  • Goddamned Boss: Hera who attempts to prevent you from throwing blocks where they need to be.
  • Once Original, Now Common: Gish came out in the time where physics in platforming games was relatively new. It received praise for its innovative control mechanics and it even won grand prize of IGF.
  • Scrappy Mechanic: Some of the switches since they tend to get stuck when pulled the wrong way.
