YMMV / Ginny Weasley: Double Life

• Audience-Alienating Premise: No matter how much the author tries to color it differently, this is still a story where Ginny Weasley is hypnotized into a sexual relationship with a snake. This means that readers need to be able to accept two separate red flags (Questionable Consent and, again, bestiality) to accept this story. It's very easy to see why they wouldn't.
• Base-Breaking Character: Ginny herself. By its very nature, this fic has prompted some readers to denounce Ginny as a cheater due to her two relationships. The author's notes often make it clear that readers must remember that Ginny has been hypnotised, which will have had some effect on Ginny even if her essential personality remains unaltered in terms of her love for Harry and her existing family.
• Broken Base: Some readers would have preferred a more ‘traditional’ hypnotic snake storyline, such as the original ‘Kaa abducts Ginny’ premise, but others like the storyline as it is for the comparative originality.
• One True Threesome: In a loose sense, as a key part of the narrative is that Ginny loves Harry and Milikan equally and has no intention of leaving either, even if she has been conditioned not to tell Harry of Milikan's existence.
