- Captain Obvious Reveal: During the Jungle Book episode, the brief looks we get at Bagheera are still far too good for anyone to possibly be taken in by the misdirection that he's Shere Khan. It's made even sillier when the writers pat themselves on the back over the "twist" with Donna literally saying, "I did not see that plot twist coming."
- Just Here for Godzilla: The first two episodes alone are worth watching just to hear Neil Patrick Harris as the voice of the White Rabbit.
- Narm: It really defies belief that the kids are completely ignorant of books as famous as Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and The Jungle Book. This gets lessened later on- for instance, the Wizard of Oz arc that opens up season 3 has the team be familiar with the basic idea of the story from the 1939 movie. The aspects they need to learn by reading are all specific to the modern adaptation (created for the show) that the characters were drawn from.
- Spiritual Successor: Recalls the original Ghostwriter in some ways, but also has elements reminiscent of Between the Lions and Super Why!.
