- Broken Aesop: Ryuga repeatedly espouses The Power of Friendship and Light Is Good when dealing with Jinga. However, not only does Ryuga not react at all to most of Jinga's taunting but the film goes out of it's way to keep Rian and company out of the fray while Ryuga just keeps fighting. By the time either aesop could come into play and Ryuga's friends make it to his side, not only has the Mirror Character angle transitioned to a Space Whale Aesop but Garo's already dealt the finishing blow to Jinga and the conflict's over.
- Fridge Logic: Banbi's ritual is prepared for in secret and with no transparency between her and the Knights she's stealing Armors from, (sans Aguri) implying that it is, as a whole, taboo. Ryuga and company also frequently associate with a merchant known to smuggle elicit items for Knights and Priests, so it still doesn't excuse Aguri not being up-front with his friends.
- Memetic Mutation: The moment where a Mook pulls out a small dog that starts barking bullets comes out of left field so hard that a gif of the scene started to spread on Twitter, though with Garo's relative obscurity, it didn't spread that far.
