YMMV / Fist of the Moon

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Was Pluto being truly honest about the original future in her letter? Or did she manipulate every one so she could be with Endymion/Mamoru instead of Usagi and justified it to herself by changing the future so some people were marginally better off and exaggerating or lying about the original timeline to make her actions seem valid? Her claims about Usagi and Mamoru's relationship are tainted by the fact she's formed a relationship with him in the new future and especially when considering that Pluto held an unrequited love for King Endymion. There is only her word to go on.
  • Angst? What Angst?: Averted. Ranma is still dealing with being locked long after it happens, though she does find some measure of peace. The fact that everyone around her is unconditionally supportive helps.
  • Moral Event Horizon: What the Amazon elders do to Mousse, Shampoo, and Cologne would probably sicken even the Black Moon Family.
    • Cologne has her ki sealed, which by itself would cause her body to slowly fail, and she is sentenced to be tortured to death, but not until after having to watch the punishments of the younger two.
    • Shampoo is locked into her cursed form as a cat and treated with herbal brainwashing that erases her human facilities while allowing her to retain knowledge of having once been human. It takes her a month to succumb, and they had to starve her to lower her resistance.
    • Mousse: arguably gets it the worst, for both being male and openly assaulting the council. He is beaten, and blinded when his glasses are shattered while on his face. Then he is locked in a cage in the open with only a loincloth, denied access to food, water, cleanliness, and medical care, and after letting his injuries fester for a while they use a pressure point that makes him think they have severed his hands.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: The Shitennou are confirmed to still exist in their gem forms. However they never take any role in the story's plot despite being Mamoru/Endymion's advisors and friends.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Despite unlocking his full powers and ominously noting that his interests lie with the Earth now instead of the Moon Kingdom, no real conflict ever emerges between Mamoru and the Senshi.
