  • Alternate Self Shipping:
    • Saber is often shipped with her alternate counterparts from across the multiverse, including her Alter, Lancer, and Mysterious Heroine selves.
    • Her Master Shirou is no slouch in this department, either: his counterparts from Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA☆ILLYA and Fate/Grand Order (which is his body possessed by Senji Muramasa) are sometimes paired up with him to offer some contrast between their outlooks on life, to say nothing of his pair-ups with the multiple versions of his alternate future self EMIYA.
  • Complete Monster: See here.
  • Just Here for Godzilla: There are a number of people that only get into the Fate franchise after hearing about the gender-flipped historical figures.
  • Magnificent Bastard: See here.
  • Memetic Loser: The Lancer class in general due to most of them having a poor luck stat as well as how they tend to die in terrible ways. This is especially true after Carnival Phantasm has Lancer Cu constantly dying in almost every episode. Even when Fate/Apocrypha looks to change that by having two of the most powerful servants in the story being lancers, Vlad III ends up dying terribly just like all of the other lancers and while Karna ends up faring better, he's still stuck with a Master that he doesn't fully trust, got his servitude via underhanded means, and having to take the antagonist role.
  • Moral Event Horizon: See here.
  • More Popular Spin Off: Fate was relatively popular in the Noughties, but never monumentally so. In the 2010's however, first came ufotable's adaptation of Fate/Zero which was first showcase of the series to a wider audience, and Fate/Grand Order which has since become the most profitable part of the Nasuverse. As a result, Fate itself has completely eclipsed every other part of the Nasuverse in the collective consciousness across the globe.
  • Never Live It Down:
    • No matter how much he does in lore, Merlin will always be best remembered for that time he gave Altria (Saber from Fate/stay night) a penis.
    • The entire Fate franchise is totally equated with the male-to-female Gender Flip trope ever since Fate/stay night, with a few that are introduced in F/GO. However, the number of genderbent Servants is less than a quarter of total Servants in the entire franchise, even when every individual Altria-clones are counted separately. Of the 280 Servants (114 of which are limited or unplayable) in Fate/Grand Order, only 26 are actually genderbent. That's only one-off from the 27 total genderbent servants shown to exist in the franchise, though this gets bumped up to 30 when the subversions that still technically qualify due to being linked to male Heroic Spirits that appear in female vessels and otherwise don't reference their being originally male are included.
