  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Did Misaki abandon Madoka which led to the girl's death on purpose because she was lagging behind or did she just not notice until it was too late? Or, in the event that it's the former is she just shortsighted since she's just as likely to die from Moonlight Syndrome, instead of simply being a Jerkass?
  • Good Bad Bugs: While a glitch caused six ghosts to not actually count when photographed, leaving the Ghost List incomplete and the Festival lens unobtainable, these spirits could be photographed multiple times for their full point value. This gives the player a rather easy way of getting a ton of Spirit Points to upgrade the camera and lenses with.
  • Obvious Beta: The original Wii version contained the aforementioned Game-Breaking Bug that was never fixed, and it also had a broken Ghost List that is impossible to complete, without hacking the save-file.
  • Polished Port: The remaster is widely praised by fans for its greatly improved graphics and finally bringing a much-wanted game to be released in the west. While it still has its shortcomings such as some of the textures being taken directly from the original and not being upscaled very well, and slight frame drops, it's generally agreed that the overall port is excellent.
  • Scrappy Mechanic: The piano segments. They require the player to point at the narrow keyboard keys with the WiiMote pointer, and the game often ends up hitting the one next to the intended key. And the game is also pretty finicky about timing. The worst part is that it appears as a mechanic for the final boss battle. After reducing Sakuya's health, she's temporarily stunned and the player must play the Moonsong Song on the piano to complete the battle. Failing to input the notes correctly, the player needs to fight Sakuya again. Made easier in the Remaster, as the piano keys are mapped to buttons on the console/keyboard.
  • That One Boss: The battle against the Vessel and the Organs in the Kagerou stage. It pits you against six ghosts at once, which is already bad enough. But the Organs like to confuse players by approaching them like they are about to attack, only to back up and then let one of the others attack the player because they didn't focus on them. Especially since the Organs also like to pop out from the ground right at the player's feet and attack there. The Vessel is mostly there to appear threatening, but has a tendency to suddenly attack the player and distract them. If the player hasn't mastered the Evade function yet, good luck.
  • Too Cool to Live: Choushiro Kirishima. He was a police officer that turned private detective upon leaving the force, and he was the one that found the kidnapped girls on Rogetsu Island, single-handedly saving them. And he has been spending his whole time since chasing down Yo Haibara, to bring him to justice. Badass is the only way to describe this guy. Choushiro turns out to have died eight years ago, and he's one of the spirits roaming the island, repeating his actions until the curse is broken.
  • Waggle: The Wii motion controls can feel this way, being somewhat imprecise.
  • The Woobie: A lot of the characters count as this, but among the ghosts, Fuyuko Shiratsuki is a very sad example. She was the one who had to deal with Ayako, and suffered a lot of her abuse, including getting dragged across the hallway by her hair, and being cut over and over again with scissors. And after that, she suffers from Blooming caused by Sakuya and dies horribly. As creepy as her ghost looks, she also looks incredibly depressed. It makes you wanna give her a hug if she wasn't trying to kill you...
