YMMV / Family Guy S 12 E 8 Christmas Guy

• Broken Base: Stewie going back in time to prevent Brian's death is either giving distraught fans what they wanted after "Life of Brian" shocked them by killing him off, or the ultimate example of a Writer Cop Out.
• Just Here for Godzilla: Most people recognize this episode as "The Episode where Brian is Brought Back to Life" despite the fact that said event was this episode's B-plot and didn't happen until around the end of the episode.
• Nausea Fuel: Peter force-feeding Carter egg nog, making it look like a porno shoot.
• Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: Vinny, who was instrumental in getting Stewie back in time to save Brian's life, despite knowing that this would result in him never meeting the Griffins. Needless to say, a lot of people warmed up to him after that and were sad to see him go.
• Writer Cop Out: Fans had a pretty mixed reaction to the ending of this episode, which wound up feeling like the entire arc was nothing more than a cheap ratings stunt instead of a meaningful dramatic turn in a show where dramatic turns and being serious isn't really in the writers' vocabulary (barring such episodes as "Brian Wallows and Peter Swallows," "Dog Gone," "Brian and Stewie," and "Screams of Silence: The Story of Brenda Q") and a chance for the writers to flex their creative muscle and do something different to breathe new life in the show.
