• Aluminum Christmas Trees:
  • Rob Hall really did call his wife via radio suggesting Sarah as a baby name, just before his death.
  • Beck surviving twice against all odds (living through a night completely exposed on the mountain and then besting his would-be death sentence of exposure upon his return to the camp) seems a complete Hollywood move, but it did happen exactly that way in real life, and was just as inexplicable to the other climbers then.
• Awesome Music: Dario Marianelli created hauntingly beautiful music for the film. Special mention goes to "The Call", "Beck Gets Up" and "Epilogue".
• Retroactive Recognition: Vanessa Kirby appears as one of the climbers.
