• Values Dissonance: The whole "cross-dressing" thing mentioned on the main page gets milked for a lot of mileage. Completely aside from Ivan's "sin" of covering himself with one of Katerina's garments, later they cross the bridge in the other direction, and Katerina refuses to cover herself with his shirt. Ivan has to explain to her that when people see her naked in public, they will either assume that he has raped her or that she is a whore. It still takes a while before she learns to accept the idea of relative morality.
