• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Chapter 19's parody of "Weird Science", mostly because the author wanted to make fun of that 80's movie and because it was written in memory of director John Hughes. The chapter even took place in Shermer, Illinois.
• Fridge Horror: The creator was informed by the creator of the series that May is 13, Marie is 14, and Lee is 15. The Killer Sisters who are triplets are 11. Imagine how scary it is that three 11 year olds pick fights with those older than them and winning them.
• Ugly Cute: Edna, according to the children of the cul-de-sac, mostly due to her uncanny resemblance to Ugly Betty.
