YMMV / Dungeon Munchies

Go To

  • Jerkass Woobie: Simmer oftentimes comes off as incredibly selfish, self-centered, and even outright evil, resurrecting you and countless other hapless souls to fight (and cook) on her behalf. Aside from profiting from her future line of magical creature cuisine cookbooks, however, she really wants you all to escape this dungeon to a better life, and try to return to the peaceful life she had with all her friends back in college.
  • Nightmare Fuel: C-04 and its minions. It quickly turns what was once a quirky horror/comedy game to Lovecraftian and Alien levels of gruesome Body Horror.
  • What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids?: Although the game has a cartoonish art style that may appeal to kids, Dungeon Munchies is not a game you should let young children play unsupervised. Even though the English version is relatively toned down compared to its native language, vulgar drawings still remain, such as Big Vine's middle finger warning poster and a bunch of dick drawings on signs. If you are able to understand Chinese, you will be met with profanities coming out of Tyler's dirty mouth and the Fantastic Drug references in the recipe will be a lot more obvious.
  • Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: The Lord Protector, AKA Grill. Killed during The End of the World as We Know It, only to return as a spirit, trapped in a giant underground complex infested with monsters and sentient plants, without any company and mourning the loss of all her friends and schoolmates. Desperate for a purpose and distraction, she became the plants' guardian deity, trying to create a new, balanced ecosystem, though by the time you arrive, the plants are already revolting, and Grill is trying to sabotage the only hope you all have of escaping this hell.
