• Genius Bonus:
  • Methane Gas indeed is known to induce hallucinations in sufficient doses. And there are theories (not entirely accepted by consensus) that hallucinations caused by methane exposure are responsible for the Oracle of Delphi's prophesies.
  • Huey's (lover of scientific fact) and Webby's (lover of making up fantastic stories) interaction in this episode mirrors Victor Frankenstein's description of himself and his cousin Elizabeth (highly appropriate in light of the series finale's reveal about their relationship):
  "I delighted in investigating the facts relative to the actual world; she busied herself in following the aerial creations of the poets. The world was to me a secret, which I desired to discover; to her it was a vacancy, which she sought to people with imaginations of her own."
• Growing the Beard: Out of the early episodes that are not 'Woo-oo!", fans love this one for splitting the screentime evenly between a large amount of characters, as well as taking the series in an overall darker direction.
• Harsher in Hindsight: The following dialogue is much darker once you've seen the season finale and know that Lena is not even a real person, just Magica's creation:
  Mrs. Beakley: Those are good children with bright futures!
  Lena: Yeah? And what does that make me?
