- Alternate Character Interpretation: Just how crazy is Damien? What is TheArsonist's real goal? In particular, this depends on how much of what happened is real; if all of Rick's speculations are correct, Damien is a monster, but if Rick's comments were actually left by one of Slendy's Agents to discredit Damien, he's just another tragic victim.
- Fridge Horror: Upon realizing that the entire narrative is fiction within fiction, we're now forced to reinterpret everything we've read. That means, as a result of his declining sanity, Damien made the conscious decision to kill Matthew Wilcox, may have been the murderer of Emily and Vincent, and was apparently planning more deaths, including that of his brother.
- Harsher in Hindsight: Possibly more so then any other Slender series; the idea that one could go insane an even kill people in a Slender Man related psychosis is this after the real life attempted murder of a girl by their friends in an effort to sacrifice her to Slender Man.
- Moment of Awesome: Damien saving a little kid at the store from Slender Man. Spoiled for Damien himself when he immediately turns around and gets a face full of Slender Man. Meep.
- Paranoia Fuel: Slender Man starts standing right outside - and later inside - Damien's bedroom, even after Damien retrieves the bone talisman.
- Tear Jerker: Many involving poor Damien losing his grip on reality and his own body. Also, all of the deaths of everyone he cares about.
