• Aluminium Christmas Trees: Never heard of quadricycles? They exist. They've existed since the 1850s.
• Harsher in Hindsight: Clara is wearing a necklace in the form of a raven.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Eleven's exclamation that Monks "are not cool", aside from a Mythology Gag to One's Harmless Villain the Meddling Monk, becomes funnier when Twelve faced a race called the Monks in a trilogy of episodes during Series 10.
• Unintentional Period Piece: The episode makes reference to a number of then-current social media websites, some of which were already outdated by the time the episode aired and were all but history within a couple of years. The episode also makes reference to other aspects of the World Wide Web that are bound to be outdated before long (including the fact that no one calls it the World Wide Web anymore). The tech on display, such as wifi routers, laptops and tablets also will betray the era in years to come. At least the episode is supposed to be set in the early 2010s.
