YMMV / Digimon World DS

  • Accidental Innuendo: The fake Digi-Egg of Miracles is called the Digi-Eff of Miracles. Non-mammals have sex and make eggs. Digi-eggs are made from digi-sex.
  • Awesome Music: The boss theme of this game, as heard here is quite the rocking theme.
  • Cult Classic: The Digimon Story games as a whole are this. While not the deepest RPG's in the industry, they are still of good quality and great games for those who love the franchise.
  • Demonic Spider: Blossomon. It's an Ultimate level Digimon at a stage where you're likely still toting a mixed Team of Champions and Rookies. This already means that killing it swiftly is a pain, even if you hit it with your most damaging moves. If you don't manage to take it down it before it can act, pray to the Random Number God for mercy. If it decides to bust out Spiral Flower, it will strike one of your mons three times in a row, which all but guarantees death. They're quite common, too, and you will often find yourself fighting Blossomon alongside the annoying (but not nearly as dangerous) Stingmon and Gekmon, or even worse, alongside a second Blossomon.
  • Narm: For a large segment of the game, the main antagonists are a group of tamers who are up to no good. What are they called? Not something ominous like, oh, I don't know, the Chaos Bringers, Shadow Tamers, or something even remotely threatening. They're literally referred to as the Bad Tamers. The Bad Tamers. THE BAD TAMERS is the best thing the localization team could come up with!
    • It makes more sense if you consider that they are given that name by an NPC ally of yours, and the enemy leader is young and immature enough to think that it's cool and Apropriate it.
  • That One Level: Packet Swamp. It has a confusing layout with the whirlpools that will send you to god knows where. What makes this worse is that this area has quite the nasty Demonic Spider, Blossomon, who can potentially one-shot any of your party with it's signature attack if they're not defensive enough. Thankfully the boss is not nearly as troublesome as the level itself is.
  • Viewer Gender Confusion: Oddly enough, Masaru Daimon, the main character of Digimon Data Squad can fit this. The main Power Trio from the Savers anime cameos in this game, but the game was also released in the US well before Savers was dubbed in English. Masaru's name wasn't changed, so his pony tail, unusual (to non-Japanese players) name, and the limited graphics of the game itself made the fact that he was a boy somewhat unclear to many fans.
