• Anti-Climax: At the end of the Adventure arc, Dazzle's transformation into a real cat is negated and the adventure ends purely because the imp didn't want to put up with Diamond being all teary-eyed over it.
  • Happens again toward the end of the Sleepover arc. Dazzle's transformation into a dog is resolved by Iggy throwing some cookies at him, Diamond is turned back into a cat after the Imp ends their discussion, and the Imp is suddenly thrown out of the house in the last two panels by Filthy Rich.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Peal shows up in 'Visitor' with a letter from Diamond's Aunt Spoiled. A few months later, Diamond's mother is revealed to be named Spoiled Rich, which would mean either Filthy's sister and wife share the same name, or Spoiled's parents were exceptionally lacking in ideas when naming their children.
• Nightmare Fuel: The events that occur during Diamond's second nightmare in 'Catapult'. 'Diamond and Dazzle' takes on new meaning.
• Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: Diamond Tiara is this for many, due to the story showing while she's not the best pony, she's still not just a bully and has a good relationship with her father and her pet. This was also a goal of the author in making it.
• They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Some fans feel the last arc falls into this, due revealing the Imps are the Greater-Scope Villain for everything in the main series and in control of the entire setting in one way or another, due to having been drawn to the comic for being a lower deck, Slice of Life comic with relatively low stakes about about Diamond Tiara's home life when the 'camera isn't rolling' in the show. Somewhat helped by the author explaining it's intentionally unclear if the Imps really are or if the Imp is lying.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: In the Sleepover arc, Diamond turns back into a cat for all of three comics purely so the Imp can have a private conversation with her. Dazzle never got a chance to be her Abhorrent Admirer before she turned back due to being a dog.
