Angst? What Angst?: Despite witnessing full-scale nuclear war being carried out during which everyone they've ever known is killed, society and civilization are completely destroyed and thousands of years of progress is undone, not a single person we see in the base appears to be the least bit worried or concerned, as if the announcement of the Incoming! nuclear missiles had instead been about a change to the lunch menu. This could have been excused if they thought it was only a training exercise and found later that it was real and then everybody freaked out.
Some of the carpet used to pull the hordes of flesh-eating cockroaches is visible plain as day in a few shots.

Visual Effects of Awesome: The lighting effects used to stimulate nuclear explosions and the post-Apocalyptic sky changing colors may not always be convincing, but almost no one will deny how striking they are.
