YMMV / Chronicles Of Osota

Go To

  • One True Pairing: A majority of the readers love Alina and Senri.
  • The Woobie:
    • Alina. It would be easier to list how she is not a woobie, and this is only the first book.
      • At the beginning of the story, she had been living in isolation for eleven years following the death of her parents. According to her, she did not really have any friends during that time. While she become friends and shared a bed with one of her maids, the maid was sent away, and she did not seem surprised since she felt it was normal for people to be taken away.
      • When she is eventually taken out of isolation, it is because her Aunt and Uncle are dead, and they failed to produce an heir, so as far as she knows, she has no family left.
      • Shortly after arriving in the Heartland, she is also haunted by numerous visions that indicate Osota along with its people will fall unless she can do something about it. If she tells anyone about her gifts, it is likely she would be removed from being able to do anything at all because Seers are deemed unfit to rule. Even without telling people of her gift and attempting to obtain evidence of enemy nation's malicious intentions, the government further proves its inadequacy forcing her to take a new and dangerous approach.
      • She finds out that the man responsible for the deeds of the first book was in fact her Uncle after his death leaving her with little to no closure. However, she finds out that he was not entirely responsible for his actions due to a 'third party' who was manipulating his mind.
      • While Alina has found happiness with Senri, she fears they are doomed to become Star-Crossed Lovers, especially since she has witnessed Senri be nearly killed twice in front of her, and she knows Senri was nearly killed on at least one or two other occasions. Only time will tell if their romance will be doomed to tragedy.
    • Lanan for suffering horrifically at the hands of the enemy. Even if what they did to her happened off-screen, the impact of what happened to her is still noticeable by the reader.
