YMMV / Cheap Show

  • Acceptable Professional Targets: A large portion of the show's humour comes from mocking celebrities, TV personalities, and musicians, especially those popular when the duo were growing up. Frequent targets include Noel Edmonds, Paul Daniels, and Jimmy Savile.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: A few years into the podcast's run, Eli created the character of "Storytime Grandad", intended to satirize the Rambling Old Man Monologue. The character's stories contained no substance or point, but were sprinkled with crude humour. Episode 105 introduced "Derek", the creator of Video Games Basement's great-uncle, who exemplified these attributes to a T. The analysis of Derek's stories for comedic effect are now a recurring segment.
