• Crack Pairing: Tons of them. The Scramble is the only place where you can see Danny Phantom and Yellow from Pokemon get together.
• Growing the Beard: Scrambles 1 and 2 are widely regarded as terrible in retrospect, with too-broad tiers, poor policing of submissions' power, droves of dropouts, and a focus on dry analysis over narrative writing. These problems improved somewhat in 3 with the first themed Scramble, but it's with 4 that most believe the Scramble hit its stride, beginning the era of grand narratives.
