• Alternate Character Interpretation: King Louis is a genuinely abusive asshole, even trying to drag Heal back to the Sanfaris mainland by force, demanding he become the heir, no objections tolerated. It's only after he's spooked by Mappa that he begins treating Heal like a person, not a place-holder, then he begins lamenting Heal's legitimate grudge and sails off, recognizing Shiorel Reef as an independent kingdom. Was King Louis forced into it by his country's "A person's crest is everything" culture? Or is he merely faking his repentance, since he didn't consider Heal a person until Mappa showed up with his own Conqueror's Haki and King Louis realized brute force wasn't winning the day this time? Or is it a mix of both?
