YMMV / Cannibal! The Musical

Go To

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: The whole musical is one for Alferd Packer - if it is to be believed, Bell was the actual murderous cannibal and Packer only killed him in self-defense and ate the others out of necessity to survive.
  • Crosses the Line Twice This is a Trey Parker and Matt Stone project so this is pretty much a given.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Twenty years after this movie was released, we got another movie musical with a song about wanting to build a snowman.
  • Ho Yay: The scene before and during "When I Was On Top Of You". Lampshaded by Humphrey's perfectly timed "Fudge, Packer?" The DVD Commentary points out Swan smiling, nodding, and going out of frame near Packer's crotch when Packer starts singing.
  • Jerkass Woobie: Bell could be considered this. While yes he did cross the Moral Event Horizon by killing Swan in cold blood and further compounds the problem by killing the rest of the party and trying to kill Packer however it’s difficult to not feel some sympathy for him considering he gets his leg caught in a bear trap early on in the film and still tries to remain upbeat for everyone else despite receiving no medical attention! He only starts to lose it once his leg becomes horribly infected. Even worse is the fact that no matter how many times Packer tries to kill him he cannot die!. That’s enough to make anyone sympathetic...
  • Moral Event Horizon: Bell crosses this first when he shoots Swan, and again when he kills everyone else except Packer "in self-defense".
  • Tear Jerker: "When I Was On Top Of You" and Packer looking sadly at his horse before running off.
  • The Woobie: George Noon when he realizes he will die a virgin.
"You know Packer, because of you I will never get laid!"
