YMMV / Camelot 3000

Go To

  • Complete Monster: Morgan Le Fay is the wicked half-sister of King Arthur. Having manipulated the fall of Camelot, Morgan was banished through space and time, killing her way through multiple aliens to take control of their race and forcing their children to be her soldiers and Cannon Fodder. Raining death and destruction on Earth and attempting to torture and kill the reincarnated Knights of the Round Table, Morgan begins assassinating world leaders to establish her dominion before attempting to wipe out the Knights and kill whoever she needs to in order to rule the world. Her manipulation also turns Jordan Matthew into a terrifying warrior.
  • Heartwarming Moments: Isolde still wants to be with Sir Tristan, in spite of him being a woman. Although Tristan initially struggled with her new gender and believed to be unworthy of Isolde's love, she eventually accepted being a woman and fully engaged in a lesbian relationship with Isolde.
    • Another, from page 13 of issue 9, where Arthur profusely apologises that he cannot accompany a wounded Tom on his journey to find the Holy Grail, referring to him as like his own son and hugging him. Considering one of the first plot-points of the series was Tom's parents being killed, it's incredibly moving to see Arthur not only refer to him as his son, but show genuine appreciation for Tom risking his life to protect Arthur's (resulting in his fatal injuries in the first place).
  • Moral Event Horizon:
    • Kay crosses it by betraying Merlin. While what he does has a very good motive and it works, Arthur still can't forgive him.
    • Jordan Matthew crosses it by allying himself with Morgan and the aliens for more power.
    • King Arthur himself, of all people, has crossed the line in his backstory by drowning babies, including trying to do so to Mordred, to make sure he never grows up to challenge the throne. The result is Jordan Matthew having now a legitimate reason to hate Arthur, as he is Mordred reincarnated.
  • Values Dissonance:
    • At the time the comic came out, Tom being attracted to Tristan's new female body and is constantly making moves on him, referring to him as a woman and calling him "Amber", made him look like a Dogged Nice Guy. By a modern standpoint however Tristan is effectively heterosexual (as he's still in love with Isolde) transman; who Tom, a cis/het guy, is relentlessly sexually harassing, misgendering and deadnaming.
    • Though even the idea of Tristan being a transman is hit with this, since he starts the comic wanting to return to his original male body. However his arc is coming to accept that he is indeed a woman now, which goes strongly against any potential trans themes.
