• Harsher in Hindsight:
  • Buffy tries to convince Wesley to help her by telling him that "this is about watching my lover die". In "A Hole in the World", Wesley would later watch his own lover die in his arms. And in "Not Fade Away", he would later die in the arms of the thing that killed her, pretending to be her.
  • Buffy herself later has to watch her lover die in "Chosen".
• Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • Buffy says this will be her last "office romance". She ends up dating Riley - who turns out to be part of the Initiative - and Spike. Another vampire. Who later gets a soul.
  • Anya offering to let Xander flee town with her, alluding to a car being out front. "Triangle" reveals that she doesn't know how to drive, so perhaps Xander's chances of surviving were better at the Ascension.
• Les Yay: The climactic Faith fight scene is dripping with it, Faith even teasing Buffy to "give us a kiss" before it starts
