  • Some gay rights campaigners go further, suggesting Ruth and Naomi were a biblical example of a homosexual relationship. Others, especially conservative believers, naturally beg to differ on this point.
  • There's a love song that was popular in the 50s called "Whither Thou Goest" based on that vow.
