• Esoteric Happy Ending: The Belchers getting their old couch back by giving up the new couch is presented as a happy ending, but they wasted a ton of money for nothing (especially considering how poor they already are) and traded a functional new couch for their broken old couch. Rather than sentimental as the writers intended, fans just found the Belchers' actions stupid and wasteful.
