• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: With the title spoofing A Fish Called Wanda, and the show outright having one of that film's actors as part of the voice cast (namely Kevin Kline as Mr. Fischoeder), you'd think the episode would pair them both up as a neat case of Actor Allusion. As it turns out, however, Mr. Fischoeder makes no appearances in the episode, not even a minor cameo.
• Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Both plots have shades of this.
  • Tina's heart is in the right place, but she spends the whole week bothering her little fish and then plans to dump chilli on her, risking humiliating her in public just to satisfy her own big fish dream.
  • Bob and Linda want to quit Rick's gym after the first day just because they were sore, even though they signed contracts and their soreness was a direct result of them not warming up or cooling down at all. When that fails, they try to drive away his customers until he caves in.
