  • Fridge Brilliance: The title track from The Complex has a line about the narrator seeing his picture on the bathroom door. What he's referring to is this image. He's worried about losing his identity in a sea of corporate sameness.
  • Friendly Fandoms: With Stomp!, another quirky performance group famous for combining pantomime, sketch comedy and percussive music made with everyday objects. Both the original BMG off-broadway show and the American theater version of Stomp! have been staples of the New York theater scene since the mid-90s.
  • Misattributed Song: "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" by Eiffel 65 and "The Hamster Dance" have both been misattributed to Blue Man Group.
  • Nightmare Fuel: The singer in "Persona" has been wearing a mask (presumably) for so long that even when he takes one off, there are countless others. The accompanying video in the live show has the singer, in increasing desperation, ripping off one mask after another.
  • Signature Song: "Opening Mandelbrot" is the song most people think of when they think of the Blue Man Group, thought usually not by name.
    • If it's not "Opening Mandelbrot" that comes to mind, then it's "Drumbone".
    • "Time to Start" is becoming this more and more, owing to its use in commercials for the various Blue Man Group live shows.
    • "Sing Along" might count, as it was their first song to receive a proper music video and include a big-name featured vocalist.
  • Tear Jerker: "Exhibit 13," a sombre instrumental piece featuring recitations of scorched documents which blew into Carol Gardens after 9/11.
