  • Ass Pull: The clones of Dokken reveal. It doesn't do anything for the plot besides let Dokken kill Tharien without any Offing the Offspring guilt, it's never explained how Dokken got the technology to do so given how the Truthsayers seem to have a monopoly on it, and in one of his inner monologues early on Dokken did explicitly refer to Michael Van Petersden as the son of a man he'd killed, rather than a clone he'd replaced that son with.
  • Captain Obvious Reveal: Dokken's new manservant being an undercover Eli Strone is very easy to guess.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Landholders Emilio Toth and Victoria Koman appear in relatively few chapters but are extremely popular for being likable characters who've been preparing to move against Dokken right under his nose.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Probably Dokken strangling his mistress.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The final battle between Dokken and Strone is never shown.
  • The Woobie: Kalliana, with her increasing nerves and unease about the difficulty she has with controlling her visions, and Troy following how he's Wrongfully Accused.
