YMMV / Blackadder S 3 E 6 Duel And Duality

Go To

  • Can't Un-Hear It: Stephen Fry's bombastic portrayal of Wellington.
  • Esoteric Happy Ending: While Blackadder may think that taking the identity of the future George IV gets him what he wanted, history shows us he was only officially king for ten years, and his successor won't be any descendant of his, but rather the brother of the individual whose identity he has assumed.
  • Genius Bonus: At the time the episode was set, while coffee was still widely consumed in the UK, some people tended to look down on it for being the preferred hot beverage of the French, and regarded tea as a more refined and traditionally British product. So, while Wellington would probably have been severely angry at George messing up a simple drinks order no matter what he served up in place of tea, serving the traditional drink of the foreign power that Wellington was leading a war against was probably about the worst thing that George could have done.
