- Alternative Character Interpretation: Did Cavil really eat his gun because his plans were falling apart around him and the Cylons had just lost their resurrection technology forever? Or was it an instinctive reaction done in the heat of the moment forgetting that he couldn't be resurrected anymore?
- Awesome Music: The final montage is set to Jimi Hendrix's version of "All Along The Watchtower".
- Tearjerker: Adama taking the last Viper out.
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: There's a lot of contention about the ending, naturally; part of it stems from a seemingly-missed opportunity to tie it all back to concepts from the original series, in that the ending could have moved the timescale to roughly 5000 BC, have the Colonials and Cylons land on an island near Europe, keep their technology to a degree, perhaps some are shown fanning out to North Africa or South America, and from this comes... "the forefathers of the Egyptians, or the Toltecs, or the Mayans... or the lost civilizations of Lemuria, or Atlantis".
