• Crack Ship: Ra's al Ghul and Ariel of all people are seen kissing in a Lazarus pit together.
• Crosses the Line Twice: Oh where to begin...
  • Batman and crew slaughters Ariel and the Spongebob Crew and tears them to bloody pieces, no problem. But when Robin smashes a rock on Ariel's head, B-man freaks out about it and mourns Ariel. Then resmashes her head when her head forms back.
  • Batman's methods of resurrecting Joker pretty much have him stealing stuff, forcing other characters to resurrect the green Clown and trying to summon him as a demon.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Batman and metal won't be in a sentence together again until after Dark Nights: Metal, a metal(literally and figuratively) themed storyline with Batman in the center. DC actually released a heavy metal album after its release (although it's not Batman singing in the album.)
• Memetic Mutation:
  • Butt Beware^Explanation A mondegreen in Batmetal Returns, pretty much used in Dethklok's Murmaider or any other music videos when referencing Batmetal.
  • Jiggly butts^Explanation  The creator's obsession with butts means there's a lot of ass shots and twerking shots sprinkled all over the videos. Batgirl's the most memorable one, but it doesn't mean the men are exempted.
• Visual Effects of Awesome: Say what you want about the content, but the animation is really smooth and impressive for flash animation. The guitar segments with the strumming and plucking are made to sync with the music, most lyrics are matched with the animation, or taken liberties to still make sense in context. Even more impressive to learn that only two men animated every single second of it. (Which explains the long hiatus between each video).
• Watch It for the Meme: People flock over the videos just to see Batman sing death metal and/or the weirdness of the videos. Nuff said.
