• Cult Classic: The original game does indeed have its fans out there.
• Inferred Holocaust: In the first game the Paccets either get turned into shields for Kissy, kill themselves to stun the bosses or fall under our friendly fire. Who exactly are we saving at the end of the game?
• Just Here for Godzilla: There's quite a few people who only really found out about this game because they wanted to know what the "weird orange blue-eyed happy cyclops monster thing" (a Paccet) that Pac-Man can show in his neutral taunt in Smash 4 was.
• Nintendo Hard: It's almost like they don't want you to progress in the game. By default, the arcade version of the original game doesn't let you continue playing should you lose your final life. And the sequel is crueller with Takkybeing a One-Hit-Point Wonder with only one life on default settings.
• Older Than They Think: Despite predating Metroid by a year, a lot of the features of this game go unrecognized as Ur-Examples of tropes (such as Samus Is a Girl) because either Metroid did them better, or is simply more recognized; even leading to some mistaken people thinking Baraduke ripped off Metroid despite being dated a year earlier than it.
