YMMV / Ask Fluffle Puff

Go To

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Fluffle Puff: An adorable fluff-ball who only loves to love, or a dangerous reality-bender who can be surprisingly aggressive and manipulative? Also, she apparently is a Unitologist...
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Amazingly unlike most Alicorn OC's (who are generally disliked, if not hated outright amongst the fanbase), Fluffle's big sister Marksaline has proven to be popular with fans of the blog. Several fans were even asking for her to not leave.

  • Hilarious in Hindsight: The blog featured the Changelings rebelling against Chrysalis after receiving love from the citizens of Ponyville and had become accepted into Ponyville society, and so were annoyed that she wanted to take over Canterlot (again) rather than sign a peace treaty. This was years before the season 6 finale where the Changelings rebelled against Chrysalis (albeit without any colourful form changes).
  • Jerk Ass Woobie: Queen Chrysalis becomes very, very pitiable after (temporarily) taking over the throne.
  • Memetic Molester: Fluffle is really touchy-feely, and licky.
    • As Chrysalis lampshades, it seems to be a family trait, as Fluffle's "sister" Marksaline is very much the same way.
  • More Popular Spin-Off: Of Dan Vs. FIM
  • Most Wonderful Sound: Fluffle Puff's little gasps in excitement are very adorable.
  • Nightmare Fuel: Fluffle's big sister is creepy enough to spook Chrysalis.
    • In "Poptart", when she was about to eat one of Fluffle's poptarts, Fluffle hit her with a rolled up newspaper and she got angrier and scarier-looking with each hit until she eventually looked like this (basically a cross between her normal form and a Hork Bajir).
      • Nightmare Retardant: Said form being reversed by Chrysalis giving Marksaline a Snickers bar, turning the whole setup into a reference to the "You're not you when you're hungry" ad campaign.

  • Romantic Plot Tumor: The Chrysalis/Fluffle shipping is this way to some readers.
  • Ugly Cute: Queen Chrysalis was arguably this in the original series, she has now fully become it to some fans.
  • "Weird Al" Effect: The Pink Fluffy Unicorns video is much more popular than the original video that inspired it.
