  • Critical Research Failure: A downplayed example with the Norwegian Harald joining the cast in the second film. Despite the setting being the mid-12th century, Harald speaks a modern Norwegian 'bokmål' dialect, when realistically he should have spoken a much older dialect such as 'nynorsk'.
    • Likewise, the Swedish actors speak a wide variety of dialects, despite most of them being relatives or at least living quite close to each other. It was probably easier to let them speak in their normal dialects than to train everyone to speak 'östgötska'.
