- Older Than They Think: As ridiculous as the idea of making Les Misérables into a Fighting Game sounds, this isn't the first time putting the characters of Victor Hugo's novel into an improbably action-packed setting has happened, albeit as a Weird Crossover parody: French comedy group Les Inconnus performed a skit, "Les Miséroïdes" in 1991. The skit involves reimagining the characters in a post-apocalyptic / apunkalypse setting after a Robot War (and featuring action and sounds parodying the cheesy action films of Jean-Claude Van Damme, chiefly Cyborg). Arguably the fact that one fighter on the roster of this game, Robojean, is a robot might be a clever reference to this skit by Les Inconnus.
- Quirky Work: Making a very somber and philosophical dramatic work of Historical Fiction into a fanciful and flashy Fighting Game. Yeah, it's safe to say this game has already met the WTF quotient to qualify.
