- Adaptation Displacement: Most people aren't aware that the show was originally a trio of books.
- Hilarious in Hindsight:
- This won't be the last time Keith Wickham voices a bumbling authority figure, as he would take the role of Sir Topham Hatt/The Fat Controller in the CGI era of Thomas & Friends.
- Similarly, it was not the last time Keith Wickham voiced a koala, as five years after the premiere of Archibald, he was cast in The Koala Brothers as Frank, one of the titular brothers.
- Mexicans Love Speedy Gonzales: The books were made by a French artist, and the show is made by both a British and French company, but it has a following in Australia due to featuring koalas. It's also the only country to have most of the episodes on home video.
- Older Than the Demographic: This is a Preschool Show, and while the title character's exact age is vague, he is clearly an adult.
- Retroactive Recognition: Mayor Archduke was the first Western Animation voice role for Keith Wickham, who is nowadays much more well known for his work on Thomas & Friends and The Octonauts.
