- Alternate Character Interpretation: Did Alquazar ever truly care for Zuleria? While he claims to care for her from the start. Even from the beginning of the film he was rather distant and controlling towards his stepdaughter. Later it's hard to tell if the fire he set off while she was in his lair was meant to kill her, or simply put her in enough danger to force Hasan to come to her rescue. Thus, bringing the Rose of Elil straight to him.
- Narm Charm: The film practically runs on it. There are many scenes that come off as silly if not outright cheesy. Though it's clear at least some of the actors were giving their all with their performances.
- Questionable Casting: Everyone. There is not a single MENA actor in it.
- Special Effect Failure: While most of the flying carpet scenes are done fairly well for the time. Even during those scenes, the bluescreen can be rather obvious. Also, it's rather hard to take the scene with the genie and his lightning seriously.
- Visual Effects of Awesome: The scene with the flying carpet battle near the end of the film is rather impressive (aside from the one part where the men siting upon the carpets are clearly unmoving mannequins).
